me
I wrested my website back from the filthy grasp of its usurper. Which leaves me teetering atop a heart-wrenching precipice, doesn't it?

Do I continue to occasionally indulge in the ease and accessibility of good old el-jay, or do I return to the frozen, isolated tundra of stand-alone blogging?

Do I tempt fate and string myself up between the two, trying to keep one leg in each world without perishing?

Questions to be answered, and answer them I shall.

But not now.

Confused, QLD.

P.S. I'm taking up smoking for the rest of the day. Suck my kiss, bitches (AHAHAHA MOSHI OMFG CHECK THAT SHIT OUT. Fat girls with BO, baby.)

Nick Cave Brings Grinderman Home

by Andrew Tijs - July 5 2007

Nick Cave has announced a double-header tour for Australia in October.

It's a double-header as much as Cave will play a solo set from behind the grand piano, then he'll bring his latest project to the stage to play the gritty dark blues rock that appeared on Grinderman's self-titled debut of early 2007.

Cave will hold court as an opener, reinterpreting Bad Seeds classic like the performances in Australia in 2000. But the main event will be when he is joined by Warren Ellis (of The Dirty Three) on violin, mandolin and bouzouki, ex-Triffid and current Bad Seed Martyn Casey on bass and longtime New York underground icon Jim Sclavunos on drums.

It'll be the first time the supergroup has performed their songs in Australia, having wowed crowds in London and prepared shows throughout the US in July (including a White Stripes support at Madison Square Garden). Tickets go on sale Friday July 20.

Tour Dates:
Friday 13, Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 October – The Forum, Melbourne
Friday 19 October – Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide
Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 October – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 24 & Thursday 25 October – The Tivoli, Brisbane

It's possible I'm working the door for this event at the Globe:

Details are not yet finalised, but it's more than likely the case.

I also get to stay at Moshi's house.

Who else is looking forward to Saturday?

Mostly me.

New music event in Brisbane: EXILE.

It's across the road from the Roma Street train station, which is pretty much the most convenient thing ever.

It's a weekly event and will have alternating cover, as some weeks it is a club and some weeks it will be live music CENTRO. $10 one week and $5 the next. Apparently the drinks are cheap and your favourite bands are paid well and treated with a very pretty rider. All good things.

Opening night, which is the 27th, will see The Scare, Children Collide and the Butcher Birds all getting their rock the fuck out on.

This is a pleasing development. Everyone should give them money.

See also: with EXILE so close to that other new venue - lofly hangar - one might hope for a new concentration of entertainment stop shops away from all the cockhead 'chavs' (this is funny to me and none of the people on my list of comrades but I remain unfazed) of the Valley.

i am really struggling with this quitting smoking thing, which bores me entirely because how dull is that?

whatever, apparently most people quit ten times before they actually do it or something.

i'd like to skip the rest and properly quit now. so. i'm putting myself on house arrest. i can refrain from smoking much easier at my house than in the world of social engagement. therefore, i will not enter the world of social engagement.

i'm pretty much unavailable for the next month.

okay i'ma go have my last cigarette now ahahah.
